Packer girls win fifth straight game

The Austin girls basketball team rattled off its fifth straight win to get to the .500 mark when it beat Faribault (0-12 overall, 0-6 Big Nine) 64-43 on the road Tuesday.
The Packers (6-6 overall, 3-3 Big Nine) held a 26 point lead at halftime as they started strong.
“We played aggressive with our man-to-man defense in the first half, but we didn’t play with as great an intensity in the second half,” Austin head coach Gary Peterson said.
Jenna Svoboda had seven points and 13 rebounds for Austin and Marwa Omot had four points and eight rebounds.
