ST. PAUL, Minn. — Officials say an elderly man died in a fire at a three-story house in St. Paul early Wednesday.

Firefighters were called to the single-family home shortly after 3 a.m. after neighbors saw smoke billowing from the attic. Fire was found on the first and second floors, in the attic and in the basement where officials say the fire may have started.

St. Paul Fire Marshal Steve Zaccard tells the Pioneer Press (http://bit.ly/yvx5w1 ) the Ramsey County Medical Examiner is expected to determine the cause of the man’s death Wednesday.
