Austin girls hockey team beats New Ulm 4-1

The Austin girls hockey team held New Ulm (9-9-1 overall) to 18 shots on goal in a 4-1 win in Riverside Arena Saturday.

The Packers (9-13 overall) out-shot New Ulm 21-6 in the second period as Chloe Summerfield and Abby Gallaher posted goals to make it a 3-1 Austin lead going into the third period.

“Our defense did an excellent job of keeping their forwards out of the slot,” Austin head coach Denny Bray said.
