Vision 2020 ballots in Herald Sunday

The Vision 2020 community betterment movement is wants Austinites to vote for their top five ideas starting Sunday. Paper ballots will be available in a special section in the Sunday Austin Daily Herald.

The Vision 2020 Idea Selection Committee did its part, and now it’s the community’s turn again.

The Selection Committee poured over more than 3,000 ideas for community betterment submitted by Austinites and now has a top 91. On Sunday, those chosen 91 will be revealed in a Vision 2020 special section in the Austin Daily Herald print edition, along with the official ballot and reaction from community leaders on the direction the movement is headed.

Community members can vote online starting Sunday at www.vision2020austin.com, or submit paper ballots found in the Herald special section at the Austin Public Library or the Austin Chamber of Commerce.

Community members are asked to pick their five favorite ideas in no priority order.

Once voting is done, the committee takes over again, finalizing the top 10 ideas by March 1, 2012. From there, the group will begin working to make the ideas to improve Austin a reality by 2020.
