The stars will be out around Sumner Elementary School next Tuesday.

Sumner will host a Sumner Stars Activity Night that’s a bit bigger than normal. For one thing, students will go caroling in a sleigh around the neighborhood. There will also be an outdoor movie, along with gingerbread house making, crafts and hot chocolate.

“One of our goals for this year is getting our great stories and our kids, just to get us out into the community,” said Sumner Principal Sheila Berger.

Berger said next Tuesday’s holiday celebration is an expansion of the normal month-end student celebrations. Sumner is inviting families and community members to join the party this time around.

Sumner Stars Activity Night will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Sumner. The event is free and open to the public.
