Rebels top Cardinal boys

The Southland boys basketball team led throughout in a 63-28 win over LeRoy-Ostrander in the first round of the Rebel Classic in Adams Thursday.
Southland (5-0 overall) had 12 different players score in the win.
“The kids are playing disciplined offense and they’re working hard on defense and tonight was no different,” Southland head coach Jon Thalberg said.
Decker Bendtsen scored 14 points for Southland and Dom Lazzara scored 14 for the Cardinals (0-3 overall).
“I give LeRoy credit, they’re a scrappy team and those kids work very hard,” Thalberg said. “They never gave up.”
L-O will play Blooming Prairie in the consolation round of the Rebel Classic at 6 p.m. Friday and Southland will take on Winona Cotter for the tournament title at 8 p.m. Friday.
