“We always try to get a couple of teams at this invite that can push us,” Austin head coach mark Raymond said. “It’s a great way to start the season and we looked good on just about every event.”

Austin’s team score is just one half of a point short of what the Packers finished with last season, thanks to some hard work by the team over the summer.

“We did much better work in the offseason this year than in years past and it’s really starting to show,” Raymond said. “We definitely started our season right.”

The Packers were led by sophomore Sela Fadness, who took first in the bars, the balance beam and the all-around competition.

Austin freshman Carolyn Hackel took first on the floor exercise and third in all-around.
