Packer girls fall to Huskies

The Austin girls basketball team lost its third straight game to a quality opponent when it fell to Owatonna (3-0 overall, 1-0 Big Nine) 68-46 on the road Friday night.

Owatonna senior guard Sarah McCann torched the Packers (0-3 overall, 0-1 Big Nine) for 25 points as she hit 10-of-15 from the field and 4-of-7 from downtown.

“We were keying on her and she just played a great game,” Austin head coach Gary Peterson said. “We’ve just got to put this one behind us and move on.”

Steph Justice had 13 points and four steals for Austin and Babaye Oja had 12 points and five steals,

The Packers hit 43 percent of their shots from the field, but they had 32 turnovers and missed 10 free throws.
