Hormel Foundation divvies $283K in grants

The Hormel Foundation approved more than $283,000 in grants to the city of Austin, and Austin City Council members voted Monday night to accept the funding.
The city requested about $467,000 in grants from the foundation, but seven of the requests were denied.
Last year, the foundation divvied about $325,000 for city of Austin projects.
The Hormel Foundation recently announced it will contribute $5.7 million to Austin this year, with much of that balance going to The Hormel Institute.
