Brian Lynn Corkill, 51, of Austin died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 in Morton, Minn.

He was born Oct. 25, 1960, in Austin, the son of Gary and Janith (Moehlman) Corkill. Brian was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin. He graduated from Austin High School in 1979 and continued his education at Albert Lea Vo-Tech in diesel mechanics. While attending high school and college, Brian worked summers for the Milwaukee Road. After graduating from Albert Lea Vo-Tech, Brian worked as a diesel mechanic in Texas, Wisconsin and Minnesota. He later returned to Austin and worked as the service manager for United Rentals in Rochester. He was a devoted father of Sean and Reid and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his parents, Gary and Janith Corkill of Austin; his sons, Sean and Reid Corkill of Westbrook; a sister, Susan Daniels of Rochester; a brother, Bradley (Pam) Corkill of Eau Claire, Wis.; five nieces and nephews, Amy, Nathan, Riley, Nicholas and Cassie; a great-niece, Elizabeth; two great-nephews, Ethan and Myles and many aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin with Rev. Tom Ogilvie, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27 at the Worlein Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
