The Shooting Star Trail is a few pedals on a bike closer to Austin.

With the help of about $450,000 from the Department of Natural Resources, the trail has been paved between Rose Creek and Adams.

Though most of the paving is done, Public Works Director Mike Hanson said some finishing work will continue into next spring.

Early indications are positive for that part of the trail. Hanson said local residents are saying the new portion of the trail has received better use than other parts.
