After working with five sheriffs, four police chiefs and countless dispatchers, Dispatch Supervisor Marlys Sorlie is calling it quits.

The county board recognized Sorlie’s retirement after 36 years on the job and more than 11 as supervisor.

“She will be missed,” Sheriff Terese Amazi said.

Amazi described Sorlie as a hard worker who went above and beyond what was required of her in taking on more tasks.

Sorlie noted she has had a lot of support at home through her husband, Dave.

“I couldn’t have done it without a sounding board at home,” Sorlie said.

Sorlie said working for the county is one of the only two jobs she’s ever had.

“I can’t think of working any place else,” Sorlie said.

“Well you haven’t,” Amazi said.
