The Southland football team racked up 484 yards on the ground in a dominating 69-12 win over St. James in Adams Friday.

Southland senior Tyler Kressin broke a 39-yard touchdown run on the first play of the game for the No. 8 ranked Rebels (3-0 overall), who went on to lead 55-0 at halftime.

“I always worry when you score on that first play because you don’t want that big letdown,” Southland head coach Shawn Kennedy said. “We’re trying to find an identity and this is the most points we’ve ever scored since I’ve been here. I wasn’t trying to run up the score, but our younger kids moved the ball.”
