The Austin volleyball team picked up its first win of the season when it beat Albert Lea (2-7 overall, 0-3 Big Nine) by scores of 25-23, 27-25, 25-18 in AL Tuesday.

“They’re really excited and I am too,” Austin head coach Barry Brobeck said of his squad’s first win. “We’ve been waiting awhile for this.”

“The change seemed to help a lot and it worked out nice to have Jenna as our main setter,” Brobeck said. “The girls are always fired up against Albert Lea and it’s homecoming week, so that all came together to get them fired up.”

Austin converted close to 90 percent of its serves after being in the low 80s in its other matches.
