New Prague edges Austin girls tennis team 4-3

The Austin girls tennis team fell to New Prague 4-3 on the road Monday.

The Packers (2-7 overall) picked up three wins in the singles matches but couldn’t pull off a doubles victory.

Austin freshman Kyra Carney prevailed with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.

Two of Austin’s losses in doubles came in three sets as the top team of Oliva Grev and Christine Barinka and the No. 3 team of Emma Nelson and Kathry Salazar lost close matches.
