For the second straight year, Hormel Foods Corporation has been named on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.

Hormel’s placement on the list puts the company among the world’s top 10 percent of most sustainable companies based on economic, environmental and social criteria.

“Being listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index again this year is gratifying and reflects our ongoing commitment to corporate responsibility in the areas of people, products, process, performance and philanthropy,” Hormel Foods CEO Jeff Ettinger said in a news release. “We are honored to continue being recognized for these accomplishments.”

The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index evaluates several areas of corporate responsibility, including packaging minimization initiatives, the use of a web-based environmental management system and the maintenance of employee-safety rates.
