The Riverland volleyball team lost to Dakota County 25-17, 25-22, 25-16 in Riverland Gym Tuesday.

The Blue Devils (0-15 overall) were led by Cassie Masberg, who had 10 kills and 14 digs.

“We played really well tonight as a team, but lost the spark of excitement and achievement,” RCC head coach Sara Heim said. “We were playing not to lose instead of playing to win.”

RCC will host a Cancer Awareness fund-raiser during Friday’s match against St. Cloud Tech. in Riverland Gym at 6:30 p.m.

T-shirts will be sold for $10 with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. The match will also be fan appreciation night and there will drawings for RCC apparel and gifts.

On Oct. 12, RCC will host its last home match and it will be sophomore/family recognition night.
