John Elliot Dennis, 91

John Elliot Dennis, 91, of Isle, Minn., died July 7, 2011, from lung cancer, at his home.

John was born Aug. 17, 1919, to Lucy Chubbic and Frank Dennis. He served in World War II as a medic for the Army. He was a mascot for Walleye Dundee’s of Wahkon, Minn.

John is survived by his sisters, Edith Cyson and Florence Ferguson; children, Lois (Marvin) Kuiper of Isle, Judith (Alan) Olson of Battle Lake, Ronald (Sue) Dennis of Lebanon, Mo., Jacqueline Jensen of Owatonna, Susan (Brian) Stendel of New Richland; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings, three children, Jean, Mary and Raymond. Their mother, Mildred Dennis, recently passed away Jan. 23, 2011, of pancreatic cancer.

A funeral service will take place Aug. 21, 2011, at the Kuiper residence, Isle, Minn.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests that donations be made to any needy family or cause in your area. John requested that his body be donated to the University of Minnesota where some lucky medical student will study with him for a year. The U of M will then have cremation services provided and the remains returned to the family.
