Although there were talks of moving the Freedom Fest parade route this year, it will remain the same.

The parade starts at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 4, and runs south on Main Street from Eighth Avenue NW to Lafayette Park.

Sandy Forstner, executive director of the Austin Area Chamber of Commerce, said because construction planned on Main Street has been delayed, the route won’t change.

The Mini Piggy Fun Run will precede the parade, starting at 10:45 a.m. along the same route.

Police will barricade Main Street crossings at 10:30 a.m. The parade will last until approximately 1 p.m.

Traffic going east and west during these times should use Interstate 90.
