The Austin Blue Sox took their worst loss of the season when they fell 23-3 in seven innings against the Mankato Mets on the road Friday.
The Mets scored 13 runs in the first inning as Blue Sox starter Brady Klingfus walked six in the first frame.
“We took up a team that was a little out of sorts, we had pitcher playing in the field and that sort of thing,” Blue Sox player/mangaer Josh Kunze said. “Still, that’s no excuse for how we played.”
Jamey Pratt went three-for-four with an RBI and Carter Guthmiller and Klingus each singled for Austin (1-9 overall).
