Local students receive awards

• Domingo Ramirez, from Austin and a student at Austin High School, was awarded the high school bronze medal in Screen Printing Technology at the National SkillsUSA Championships for Skilled Workforce.

• Tyler Bentzin, from Austin and a student at South Central College-Mankato, was awarded a Skill Point Certificate in Job Skill Demonstration A at the National SkillsUSA Championships for Skilled Workforce.

Area natives name to dean’s lists

• The following students were named to the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire’s dean’s list for Spring 2011:

• Elizabeth Hillson, of Blooming Prairie, was named to the Wartburg College dean’s list for Spring 2011.

• Kimberly Johnson and Tasha Striker, of Austin, were named to Bethel University’s dean’s list for Spring 2011.

• Preston Nibaur named to the Morningside College dean’s list for Spring 2011.

Locals graduate from colleges
