Orion Elliot Vela, infant son of Casandra Rodriguez and Tony Vela, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

He was born Friday, June 17, 2011, in Austin and was transferred to St. Marys Hospital shortly after.

Orion is survived by his parents, Casandra Rodriguez and Tony Vela of Austin; sister, Ayana Vela of Laredo, Texas; maternal grandfather, Jose Rodriguez and maternal grandmother, Diana (Rocky) Padilla, all of Austin; paternal grandmother, Blanca E. Vela of Austin and paternal grandfather Adrian Vela of Salt Lake City, Utah; maternal great-grandmother, Maria Trevino of Austin; paternal great-grandmother Mona Vela of Texas. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Frank Trevino.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at St. Columbanus Catholic Cemetery in Blooming Prairie with Father William Kulas officiating. Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
