A 7-year-old Grand Meadow girl was run over by an ATV driven by her 7-year-old brother Tuesday evening.

Sheriff Terese Amazi said Evan Glenn Oehlke was driving the ATV when his sister, Anna Louise Oehlke, stepped out in front of the vehicle. The vehicle hit Anna and ran over her head, Amazi said.

The Mayo One helicopter was sent to the scene, in the 28000 block of 745th Avenue in Grand Meadow Township, but Anna was transported via ambulance to St. Marys Hospital.

Amazi said there is no law regarding how old a person must be to operate an ATV on private property.
