Marie A. Crippin, 81

Marie A. Crippin, 81, of Storm Lake, Iowa passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral service will be Monday, May 9, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Newell, Iowa. Visitation will take place Monday, May 9, 2011 from 2-4:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Storm Lake Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Marie A. Bradbury was born December 18, 1929 to Albert and Mary (Theophilus) Bradbury in Howard, South Dakota. She was one of twelve children. Marie accepted the Lord and was baptized as an adult. She attended school in Howard. After graduating high school in 1947, Marie worked in a law office in Howard, South Dakota. Later, she moved to Minneapolis to work in the offices of Phillips Oil Company. Marie met Byron Crippin during young adult social activities at the church they both attended. Byron even joined her in the church choir so he could spend more time with her.
On October 29, 1955 Marie was united in marriage to Byron Crippin in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This union was blessed with three children: Patricia, David and Linda. Marie and Byron made their home in Minneapolis then later in Austin, Minnesota for many years before moving to Willmar, Minnesota. In 1995, they made their home in Storm Lake.
While living in Austin, Marie worked in the Hormel corporate office until they started a family. She enjoyed being a full-time homemaker. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and gracious to everyone. She had a great sense of humor, loved to play games and laugh, and had a beautiful smile. Marie cherished her family and all the times they were able to spend together. Marie was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and was a clever writer. Marie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years, Byron of Storm Lake, Iowa; children: Patricia (Jose) Pardo of Eagan, Minnesota; Dr. David (Glee) Crippin of Storm Lake, Iowa; and Linda Crippin of Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Alexander (fiancee, Laura Briggs) Crippin of Peterson, Iowa; and Nicholas Crippin of Storm Lake, Iowa; sisters: June Comstock of Milbank, South Dakota; Iva Hyams of Alta, Iowa; Beverly Prostrollo of Deadwood, South Dakota; Margaret (Bill) Jewell of Grand Junction, Colorado; and Elizabeth Gensurowsky of Bristol, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Tommy Bradbury, Theo Bradbury, Stuart Bradbury and Evert Bradbury; and sisters: Edna Shove and Sylvia Jones.
