Mae Annette Broadwell, 60

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through his servant Mae Broadwell.

Mae Annette Broadwell, 58, formerly of Austin, died at her home in Grangeville, Idaho, May 18, 2011.

Mae was born in Austin, Minn., on May 24, 1950, to Charles and Marian Newell. She was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on Oct. 12, 1952. She was confirmed in the Christian Faith and was fed the life-giving body and blood of Jesus. She was united in holy marriage to Alan Broadwell in Sept. 4, 1971, and blessed with 39 years of married life together. God also blessed them with the gift of a son; Jody Broadwell. On May 18, 2011, God called Mae home to heaven.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Alan Broadwell of Grangeville, Idaho, her son Jody Broadwell of Austin; brother, Lloyd Newell of Mountain View, Ariz.; sister, Patricia Pfiefer of Rochester. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Mae Broadwell. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale, Minn. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Sargeant, Minn. Services under the direction of the Worlein Funeral Home.

A Memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grangeville, Idaho. Family suggests memorial contributions to pancreatic cancer research at www.pancan.org. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
