The Austin softball team couldn’t keep up with the No. 1 ranked team in Class ‘AAA’ as they lost 8-0 at Mankato East Wednesday.

Nicole Reis pitched a perfect game for the Cougars (17-1 overall) as she struck out 17 of the 21 hitters she faced.

Marie Clennon took the loss on the mound for Austin (5-11 overall, 5-8 Big Nine).

The Packers will host Mankato West for a doubleheader Thursday and Owatonna for a doubleheader Friday before they begin the postseason next Wednesday.
