Betty L. Evanson, 69, of Austin, MN, passed away May 7, 2011.
Betty was born on June 15, 1941, in Rock County, Minn., to Maynard and Vernice (Lorenzen) Roemeling. She graduated from Luverne High School. On May 16, 1964, Betty married Everett A. Evanson at the United Methodist Church in Luverne, Minn.
Betty worked as a Beautician at Mayflower, the Old Colony Home, as a crossing guard, Ankeny’s, and Culver’s. She also volunteered at the Eagles Cancer Telethon and with the Austin Public Library. Betty enjoyed crocheting and going to the casino. She was an avid Minnesota sports fan. Betty especially loved to spend time with family.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; sister, Sandra Johnson and nephew, Brett Roemeling.
Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Paul Olson of Austin; grandchildren, Johnathan Olson and Benjamin Olson; brother and sister-in-law, Elvin and Lorraine Roemeling of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Geraldine and James Christian of Brownsdale; nieces and nephews; special friends, John and Jean Norton of Austin.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Reverend Kristi Koppel officiating. Friends may call at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011, and for one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery.
