The Austin boys golf team shot its second best score of the season, but it wasn’t enough to get past Rochester Century in a home meet at Austin Country Club Friday.
The Panthers shot a 306, while Austin finished with a 328 on a day with less than ideal conditions.

“Putting was what plagued us today,” Austin head coach Chris Gogolewski said. “Several three putts out there and missing some shorties really adds up. When playing a team like Century just a few misses gives them the advantage.”
Austin will play in the Big Nine meet at Albert Lea Monday.
Austin scores: Alex Thorson, 80; Scott Snyder, 81; Mark Thorson, 83; Isaac Christianson, 84; Tim Shaffer, 91; Tony Baudler, 97
