Stella L. Kopsing, 90

The funeral service for Stella L. Kopsing, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.

Stella died on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Home. She was 90.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1920, Rock Dell, the daughter of Einar and Dena (Bakken) Jensen. Her family moved to Albert Lea in 1930. She married Tom O. Kopsing on June 20, 1943, at the parsonage of First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She was a member of First Lutheran Church where she had been active with the church women. Stella was a fun loving Mom whose enjoyment came from being together with family.

She is survived by her son, Brian Kopsing, and his wife, Sheryl, of Albert Lea; daughter-in-law, Dolores Kopseng, of Albert Lea; six special grandchildren; foster children: Teunis (Sylvia) Hartgers of Blaine and Nancy Poore of Chicago; brother, Ingvald Jensen of Mankato; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom, in 1988; stepson, Art Kopseng; sisters: Doris Herth and Gladys Hallum; and brothers: Ed Jensen and Orden Jenson.
