The Hayfield baseball team beat Triton 5-0 on the road Friday.

Hayfield senior Tyler Nelson shut down the Cobras on the mound as he pitched six scoreless innings with six strikeouts.

“Tyler was dialed in and he had all three pitches working,” Hayfield head coach Craig Selk said. “When he’s up on the count he doesn’t mess around.”

Hayfield had just five hits against Triton ace Logan Spitzack, but they put up two runs in the first inning.
