Memorial service for Harvey D. Funke will be held at 1 p.m. Friday April 29, 2011, at the LeRoy Lutheran Church with Rev Rolf Wangberg officiating. Burial will take place in the LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery. Frinds may call at the church from noon until the time of the service.

Mr Funke, 68, of LeRoy died Tuesday, April 26, at St Marys Hospital in Rochester.

He was born May 23, 1942, in LeRoy Township, Mower County, Minn., to Clarence and Vera (Goldsmith) Funke. He attended school through the eighth-grade and helped on the farm while his parents were living. Harvey worked as a handyman and did many odd jobs for the residents of LeRoy. He enjoyed coffee and visiting with his friends at the local cafés. Harvey was also an avid Vikings fan and enjoyed watching most sporting activities. The family truly appreciates and would like to thank the residents of LeRoy for how they treated Harvey throughout the years.

Harvey is survived by two brothers, Francis (Lou) Funke of Bancroft, Iowa, and Carroll (Ellen) Funke of North Dakota; two sisters, Maxine (Donald) Leff of Lime Springs, Iowa, and Marketta Souhrada of Riceville, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, David, Jim Clarence, Merrill and Paul; and two sisters, Mary and Inez. Condolences may be left at www.hindtfuneralhomes.com.
