Evelyn Jeanette Anderson, 78, of Kenyon, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Kenyon Sunset Home.

She was born Nov. 27, 1932, in Dodge County, the daughter of Hans and Lucille (Fiegal) Fjerstad. Evelyn attended rural school near Kasson and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1950. She married Richard Anderson April 15, 1951, in Winona. Evelyn worked at the Blooming Prairie Creamery for several years until moving to Kenyon in 1959. She then worked at Security State Bank for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and the VFW in Kenyon. Evelyn enjoyed golfing, shopping, embroidery, word puzzles and having coffee with her friends. She loved time with her family and with her grandchildren in particular.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Richard Anderson of Kenyon; sons, David (and Debra) Anderson of Rochester, Roger Anderson of Kenyon; grandsons, Tyler Anderson, Jay (and Natalie) Anderson, Mitchell Anderson; granddaughters, Kelli Anderson, Angie Anderson; great-grandchildren, Oakley Anderson, Cora Anderson, Thomas Temple, Dakota Temple, Payton Temple; sisters, Marrianne Stockinger of Mishwaka, Ind., Doris Lybeck of Rochester; brother, Don (and Nancy) McIllece of Smithland, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, adopted parents, three sisters, and four brothers.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon, 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday. Funeral services will be held April 30, at 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with The Reverend Luther Mathsen officiating. Memorials are preferred to Kenyon Sunset Home or to the donor’s choice.
