RCC led the first game early, but Minnesota West scored four runs in the third off of two RCC errors and a defensive miscue where they didn’t throw a runner out on a line drive to end the inning.

In the second game, the Blue Devils had a hit batter, a walk and an error lead to two West runs that put RCC in a 2-1 hole in the fifth.

RCC loaded the bases with no outs in its half of the fifth but it didn’t score a run as a runner was thrown out at the plate on a passed ball.

“We just didn’t get the job done with the bases loaded,” RCC head coach Dan Swift said.

The Blue Devils committed seven errors on the day.
