Myrles LaJune Ferch, 87 of Austin, died Monday, March 7, 2011, at Our House Memory Care.

She was born June 18, 1923, to Henry and Ida K. (Schroeder) Dimmel in Alma City, Minn., where she grew up and attended Trinity Lutheran School. She married Donald Earl Ferch on April 20, 1942, in Janesville and worked as a welder on liberty ships in Vancouver, Wash. while Don was in the service. They moved to Austin in 1948. Myrles was an Avon lady. A member of Austin Country Club for 46 years and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Myrles was active in sewing circle and ladies aid. She visited the sick and sent cards, liked traveling and camping trips up north and loved to play golf.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Ferch of Austin; four sons, Dennis (Drucilla) Ferch of Owatonna, Ronald (Debbie) Ferch of Austin, Randall (Leah) Ferch of Vancouver, Wash.; Craig (Jodie) Ferch of Austin; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ross (Elaine) Dimmel of Spokane, Wash., Loren Dimmel of St. Peter, Elmer (Marilyn) Dimmel of Austin, Earl (Mary Jane) Dimmel of Faribault; one sister, Belva Brown of Faribault; brother-in-law, Larry Keep of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Victor and Darald Dimmel; sister, Helen Keep; sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Edna and Lorraine Dimmel, Ethel Ferch; brothers-in-law, Ralph Brown and Gordon Ferch.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor David C. Fleischmann officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday at Worlein Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Austin. The family prefers memorials to Alzheimer’s Association or Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
