VADNAIS HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota father is accused of leaving his baby home alone while he went out drinking.
Twenty-four-year-old John Clifton Vail is charged in Washington County with child neglect, fleeing an officer and other counts.
Stillwater police say an officer stopped Vail’s car early Monday morning, but he took off and ran a stop sign. A complaint says Vail drove his car into a snow bank and ran away. Police eventually caught up with Vail, who allegedly told them he was a bad father because he left his child at home alone.
KARE-TV says Vail gave his house key to officers who found his 10-month-old child alone in the home and asleep in a crib.
