The Qual family of Austin and the Austin Area Foundation have established the Qual Memorial Fund. Alice Qual and family made a $500 gift to the Foundation, creating the fund to honor Bob Qual for his lifelong efforts to provide social and recreational benefits to people who are developmentally disabled.
Inspired by their daughter, Nancy, Bob and Alice Qual started the Our Place recreation center in 1987.
The Austin Area Foundation distributes grants each year to Austin community organizations. Its mission is to make a lasting impact on the Austin community, create positive results for the community and plan a positive influence through charitable giving for future generations.
“This is a perfect solution for us,” Alice Qual said. “Bob would be very proud of this fund’s ability to provide lasting suport to the developmentally disabled community for generations to come.” Proceeds from the fund will defray costs to developmentally disabled residents who can’t otherwise afford to participate in Arc activities.
