Gregory Sibenaller, 86, of Blooming Prairie, died Monday March 14, 2011, at Homestead House in Owatonna.

He was born Dec. 14, 1924, to Michael and Francis (Hoffman) Sibenaller at Carroll, Iowa. He attended Holy Angels School in Roselle. In 1952, Greg married Clara Taphorn in Odebolt, Iowa. They farmed in the Carroll area until moving to Blooming Prairie, Minn., in 1959. A member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church for more than 50 years and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Greg dearly loved his family, visiting with his family and friends, traveling and a lively game of cards.

Survivors include his wife, Clara of Blooming Prairie; children, Corrine (Steven) Drexler of Blooming Prairie, Connie (Darrel) Trom of Blooming Prairie, Lynn (Denise) Sibenaller of Owatonna, Michelle (Hamid) Fallahi of Cottage Grove, Thomas (Karen) Sibenaller of Onalaska, Wisc., Mary (Clark) Koenen of Eagan, and Mark (Nancy) Sibenaller of Lonsdale; 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence (Mary Ann) Sibenaller of Carroll, Iowa; Eugene (Lois) Sibenaller of Earling, Iowa; sisters, Rita Hackfort of Carroll, Iowa; Anita Williams of Austin and Olga Sibenaller of St. Louis, Mo.; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lambert; sister Agnes in infancy; other brothers, Father Joseph Sibenaller; Edward Sibenaller; sisters, Helen Williams and Catherine Steffes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday March 17, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday. Visitation is at the Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and from 9 to 10 a.m., Thursday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home. There will be no reviewal at the church. Interment will be at St. Columbanus Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donors’ choice.
