Gerald “Jerry” Bell, 63, of Austin, passed away Wednesday March 16, 2011, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Jerry was born in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1965. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Minneapolis with a mechanical engineering degree. Jerry worked at the UM Minneapolis physical plant department and 3M in Hutchinson until retiring and moving to Duluth in 2010. He loved Gopher hockey, the ore boats on Lake Superior, and his dogs, Missy, Jenna, Teddy and Chaz.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille and father, Robert; his furry friends, Schotzie, Heidi, and Max.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Marian; sons, Robert and Gerald Jr., “J.J.” (Anna); daughter, Angela (Chad) Larson; grandchildren, Connor, Cadence, Lucy, Camden and Arlo; brother, Keith (Mary); aunt, Viola “Nanny” Svensson.
Memorial services will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota on March 21, at 2 p.m. with family greeting friends one hour prior to the service.
