MINNEAPOLIS — The newborn baby tossed in a snow bank in Minneapolis is hospitalized in satisfactory condition.

Police say the 18-day-old infant was thrown into the snow by her mother after she fought with a man Saturday morning.

Minneapolis Sgt. William Palmer says someone getting off a bus spotted the child and called 911. The infant was taken to the hospital due to exposure to temperatures in the teens. The baby will be released to protective custody.
