STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) — Stillwater police say a 1-year-old boy has died after he was accidentally run over by his mother last week.

Police say the Wisconsin woman was leaving Stillwater Medical Group on Thursday. She had strapped a 3-year-old into a safety seat in the sport utility vehicle and then got in, apparently forgetting about the 1-year-old.

KSTP-TV reports the mother then drove forward, catching the stroller on a bumper and dragging the stroller and baby. The mother then took her baby back into Stillwater Medical Group, which provided immediate care and called 911.

The infant was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. His name has not been released.

Stillwater Police Chief John Gannaway says there is no indication that alcohol or drugs were a factor.
