Betty Maricle

Betty Jane Maricle, 82, of Austin, died at Austin Medical Center March 19, 2011.

Betty was born Jan. 24, 1929, to James and Lydia (Tate) Falk in Addison, Ill.

The family moved to Minnesota when Betty was a child. She attended country school near Austin. She married Lawrence Maricle on Nov. 25, 1949, in Austin. They were later divorced. Betty worked at Burr Oak Manor as a nursing assistant for 24 years and retired in the early 1990s. After her retirement, Betty made her home at Twin Towers. In 2010, she moved to St. Mark’s Apartments. She loved to play BINGO. She was a cat sitter for Elmo, enjoyed eating out with friends and attended adult daycare at Sacred Heart.

Survivors include her son: Larry (Jody) Maricle, Austin; four grandchildren; special niece: Kim (Chris) Baier, Austin; special friend: Marian Ashton, Austin; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Private graveside services were held at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin with Worlein Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
