Jeffrey Leonard Ehmke is being held at the Mower County Jail pending bail after sheriff’s deputies arrested him Feb. 25 for, among other charges, first degree burglary.

According to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi, deputies responded to a home at the 400 block of Columbus Avenue South in Waltham, where Ehmke had been drinking with a resident. According to police reports, Ehmke left the residence, came back and was told he couldn’t drink there.

Ehmke allegedly broke the home’s front door by slamming his body and foot into it. He then went inside, called the victim names, took beer and left again.
