BATH TOWNSHIP — A 30-year-old New Richland man is in critical condition after he was found in a ditch this morning up to seven hours after his vehicle crashed.
According to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Trever David Swensen was discovered around 7:50 a.m. Wednesday in a ditch on 325th Street about a half mile east of 740th Avenue in Bath Township.
Swensen was reportedly traveling west on the street in a 1994 Chevrolet pickup, when he crossed over the center line, went into the south ditch and rolled at least once.
Sheriff Bob Kindler said Swensen was found just before 8 a.m., but the crash happened sometime after midnight.
Kindler stated Swensen was transported by ambulance to Albert Lea Medical Center from the scene and has since been transferred to Rochester. Mayo One was unable to fly at the time because of weather conditions.
Swensen was traveling alone.
Authorities do not know what speed he was driving before the crash.
