ST. PAUL — The victors are known. Now the benefactors will be, too.

Minnesota campaign finance reports summing up the 2010 election cycle become public Tuesday. They’ll show who spent what and who gave what in the fight for control of the governor’s mansion, the Legislature and other state offices.

The reports capture activity from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 of last year. Candidates, political parties and interest groups active in state campaigns all must file them.

Independent spending by unions and business groups were a big part of the campaign story last year. The finance reports will also show how much Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton personally invested in his campaign.
