The Southland girls basketball team had Fillmore Central where they wanted them, but they couldn’t slow down Connor Nagle in a 67-57 loss at Fillmore Central (18-7 overall, 14-6 Three Rivers) Friday.
Nagle, a senior guard for Fillmore, poured in 36 points as the Falcons put up 42 points in the second half.
“We guarded her well, it was just her night and everything she shot went in,” Southland head coach Bob Sheehan said.
The Rebels (17-8 overall) led 27-25 at the half.
Southland scoring: Brandi Schammel, 15; Jana Schammel, 15; Haley Kirkpatrick, 9; Kelli Smith, 7; Madilyn Schmitz, 6; Lindsey Bottema, 5; free throws: 39 percent (7-for-18)
