ST. STEPHEN, Minn. (AP) — Stearns County authorities say a snowmobiler fleeing sheriff’s deputies ended up hitting a barbed-wire fence and disabling his sled.
The sheriff’s office got a call early Wednesday about a possible intoxicated driver. Deputies came across the snowmobiler on a county road west of St. Stephen, but the rider refused to stop and took off across a field.
The St. Cloud Times reports the sled hit a fence and was damaged. Deputies got snowmobiles and headed into the field, where they found the 25-year-old Bowlus man next to the sled.
The man was arrested.
