The Mower County Republicans will be electing new officers at their County Convention Saturday morning.

Charles Mills, deputy chair of the county Republicans, said Rep. Rich Murray, R-Albert Lea, and Rep. Steve Drazkowski, R-Mazeppa, will be the keynote speakers at the event.

The purpose of the convention is to elect new officers, look at any constitution changes and elect delegates to both the state central committee and the congressional district central committee, Mills said.

The convention will be held at the Mower County Senior Center from 10 a.m. until noon. Registration begins at 9:15 a.m.

Although anyone is welcome to attend, delegates elected at the 2010 county convention are the only people who will vote. There are 79 delegates for Mower County, Mills said.
