Donna Mae Wickstrom, 79, of Austin, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 26, 2011, peacefully at her home.

Donna was born May 17, 1931, in Worthington, to Mr. Doris and Lilly Martens. She grew up in Round Lake and graduated from Round Lake High School. On July 5, 1952, she married Maynard L. Wickstrom in Worthington. Her husband was in the Air Force and the couple were stationed in many different States. The couple lived in Blooming Prairie from 1961 until 1969 and then moved to Austin. Donna was a waitress at Jerry’s, Alcove and retired from the Hubbell House. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin, enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center and playing Bingo. Donna truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Dennis (Bonnie Brechtel) Wickstrom of Austin; two grandchildren, Stacy (Elliot) Batcheller of Phoenix, and Sara Wickstrom of Waterloo, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Ava; and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Maynard and a son, David.

Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverand Tom Ogilvie officiating. Visitation is one hour before the service, and interment will be at a later date. Memorials to the Senior Center or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
