Darrin Eugene Garness, 40, recently passed away at his home in rural Blooming Prairie.

Darrin Eugene Garness was born June 22, 1970, the son of Dale and Carol (Camerer) Garness of Blooming Prairie. He graduated from Hayfield High School in 1988. He was united in marriage to Shelly Hansen, on Aug. 6, 1990, and later divorced. He worked at Huntting Elevator in Hayfield for many years and later worked for Larson Products. Recently he was employed with R-S Grain until the time of his death. Darrin enjoyed cribbage, camping, collecting coffee cups, fishing and loved his animals.

Darrin Garness is survived by his daughters, Tori Garness and Miranda Garness of Waltham; father, Dale Garnes of Blooming Prairie; two sisters, Terese (Dan) Johnson of Yuba City, Calif., and Wanda (Mark) Becker of Rochester; five brothers, Bernell (Carmen) Garness of Pine Island, Russell (Glenda) Garness of Hayfield, Kenneth (Virginia) Garness of Hayfield, Rodney (Judy) Garness of Austin, Chad (Chris) Garness of Hayfield.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Garness.

The memorial service for Darrin Eugene Garness will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Aurora Lutheran Church, 6329 SE 38th Street, Owatonna, with Reverend Aaron de Neui officiating. Inurnment will be in Aurora Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW, Hayfield, and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Blessed be his memory.
