Bruins start fast and win big over Blizzard

Mike Adamowicz and Chase McDonald each scored two goals as the Bruins rolled to their most lopsided victory of the season in Riverside Arena Saturday.

The Bruins (17-23-2 overall) put up three goals in the first period as they beat Alexandria (21-18-5 overall) 7-1 to complete a weekend sweep of the Blizzard.

Adamowicz, a forward from Chandler, Ariz., scored both of his goals in the first 13 minutes of the game and he added an assist in the third period.

McDonald, a forward from Salt Lake City, Utah, scored in the second and third periods and he had an assist as well.

Austin grad John Kirby had three assists in the win.

Keegan Asmundson stopped 26 of the 27 shots he saw in net for the Bruins.
